Scientists from the Center for World Health & Medicine at Saint Louis University visited GIBH
From the 27th to 28th of September, Dr. Marvin Meyers and Dr. Francis Sverdrup visited GIBH and gave scientific talks on:
(1) Plasmepsin V Project: A Collaboration to Identify Novel Anti-malarial Agents;
(2) The Plasmepsin V-Dependent Protein Export Pathway of Plasmodium: Development of a Functional Export Assay for Drug Screening.
Both Dr Marvin Meyers and Dr Francis Sverdrup were toured around the Center for Infection & Immunity and Drug Discovery Pipeline after the talks.
The visitors from Saint Louis University were here to carry out in depth collaboration with GIBH based on the agreement signed earlier which focuses on the development of anti-malarial drugs by targeting aspartic protease V (plasmepsin V, PMV). During the visit, representatives from GIBH and Saint Louis University looked into the research progresses which have been made so far and discussed future research plans as well as work distributions between the two institutions. In addition, the two institutions have also been exploring on addtional future collaborations.
