Investigators’ Lecture Series 2007 at GIBH Opened

On Jan. 4th, the first working day of 2007 in China, the Investigators’ Lecture Series 2007 at GIBH opened with a lecture named “How far are we from AIDS Vaccine?” Many researchers and students attended the lecture.

 

The first lecture was presented by Dr. CHEN Ling, Director General of the institute. He gave a fascinating portrait of researches on AIDS/HIV, including the HIV etiology, the evolution of HIV study, and the worldwide trends in the AIDS/HIV epidemic. He also explained the reasons for which the AIDS/HIV vaccine has not yet come into being, and the designing procedure for the vaccine. The presentation was aided by multimedia, and the mood of the lecture room was well exhilarated.

 

The Investigators’ Lecture Series will be held on Thursday (4:00 p.m.) every other week. The topics will be centered on the research interests of each investigator, the recent development trend as well as the latest achievements in the discipline. The activities are organized for the purposes of invigorating academic atmosphere within GIBH, strengthening communications between members as well as raising their perspectives in a positive way.
