A Generic Bifurcation Model for Cell Fate Decisions
t is an important scientific problem to be solved urgently that exploring the causes of different cell fates and then achieving efficient cell fate transformation. With the wide use of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), scientists have already carried out a lot of researches on the cell fate transformations, revealing some rules about molecular mechanism of the reprogramming process. However, due to the low efficiency and heterogeneity of iPSC reprogramming process, there are few reports on its precise cell fate transformation pathways and regulatory mechanisms.
Prof. Jiekai Chen and Prof. Duanqing Pei are both principal investigators from Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Heath, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Guangzhou Regenerative Medicine and Health Guangdong Laboratory (GRMH-GDL). Their groups recently reported the cell fate continuum during induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) reprogramming at single-cell resolution.
This finding entitled "Resolving Cell Fate Decisions during Somatic Cell Reprogramming by Single-Cell RNA-seq" were published online in the journal Molecular Cell on February 14, 2019.
