Research Areas

 Host modulation of HIV replication

Academic Performance

Targeting the key and fundamental scientific questions in HIV/AIDS field, Wang`s lab focuses on: 1) to reveal the novel mechanism of HIV transmission in acute infection; 2) to reveal mechanism of the establishment, maintenance and reactivation of HIV latency; 3) to develop therapeutic approaches for latency eradication. Regarding to the emerging viruses, Wang`s lab extends to uncover the invasion mechanisms, and viral pathogenesis, and develop strategies for prevention and control. The main achievements include:

1)      Uncovering the new mechanisms for HIV/retrovirus mucosal invasion, and develop new strategies for prevention;

2)      Identifying the key host factors that modulates HIV-1 transmission, replication and latency, which provides potential targets for therapy.

3)      He has published more than 50 scientific papers in journals, such as NUCLEIC ACID RES., MBIO, J VIROLOGY, etc.
