Research Areas

(1) New reactions involving isocyanide;

(2) Asymmetric imidoylation and carbonylation reactions;

Academic Performance

Prof. Zhu was introduced as a PI and academic leader of Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. He also has 8 years of work experience of postdoc and drug development in America. After returning to China, he has been engaged in novel and efficient synthesis methodologies for heterocycles and development of antibacterial drugs for a long time, and has made many innovative achievements. He was awarded the second prize of Guangzhou Science and Technology Progress Award (First Completor) in 2015 and the third prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award (First Completor) in 2016. Up to now, more than 60 articles have been published independently in international high quality SCI journals, and 4 Chinese patents have been applied. He also chairs 8 National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong and Guangzhou. He won the title of "Outstanding Postgraduate Tutor" of the Guangzhou education base of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012 and 2016, and won the "Outstanding Postgraduate Tutor" award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012. Until now, 12 doctors and 7 masters have been trained, and 6 of them won the national scholarship. Honggen Wang, an outstanding doctoral graduate, was introduced as a distinguished professor of Sun Yat-sen University.
