Research Areas

I started my Ph.D. studies in Professor Huang Jun’s laboratory at the School of Life Sciences, Zhejiang University, where I focused on the molecular mechanisms of DNA damage repair using cell biology techniques. I later joined Jesper Svejstrup’s laboratory (Fellow of the Royal Society and Academy of Medical Sciences) at the Francis Crick Institute in the UK for postdoctoral research. During this time, I also visited Manu Hegde’s laboratory (Fellow of the Royal Society) at the University of Cambridge to study the molecular mechanisms related to innate immune response and protein synthesis. In October 2022, I established my research group at the Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences. My team adopts a multidisciplinary approach integrating cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunology. We employ innovative techniques such as in vitro translation, quantitative proteomics, CRISPR-mediated gene knockout, ribosome analysis, and cryo-electron microscopy to systematically study the molecular mechanisms of innate immune response and protein synthesis. I have received the Zhejiang Natural Science First Prize and the EMBO Long-Term Fellowship.
