GIBH Principal Investigator Prof Jinyong Wang carried out science education in Guangzhou Yuyan High School

GIBH principal investigator Prof Jinyong Wang was invited to give a lecture to more than 650 high school freshman during the school’s science festival on the 22nd of May 2013. The title of his seminar is “The Magic of Cells: Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine”.

Invoking some health-related examples in everyday life, Prof Wang introduced the basic knowledge of stem cells and clone technology as well as their prospective application in regenerative medicine. The students were deeply touched by Dr. Wang’s vivid and straight forward elaboration. After his speech, Prof Wang also exchanged his own learning experiences with the students.

The activity was well received by the students and the faculties of the school. The school’s vice Chancellor, Mr Yongzhong Huang stated that this seminar had set the standard for all science and technology lectures to be delivered to the students in the future. Following such activities, students not only got a detailed insight into science and technology, but also came to understand the researchers own life experiences. In addition, the lecture helped the students to expand their perspectives.
