Vice-President Li Jiayang of CAS Inspected GIBH

On the morning of Aug. 2, Mr. Li Jiayang, Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the delegation inspected GIBH.

Accompanied by the directors and other faculty of GIBH, Mr. Li Jiayang paid an on-site visit of the new institute campus under construction. While inspecting the various research centers and laboratories, Mr. Li extended his greetings and conversed kindly with the researchers and students. Later on, Mr. Li listened to the report given by Dr. Chen Ling and Mr. Huang Jianchong, Director General and Deputy Director General of GIBH about the status quo and on-going projects at GIBH, as well as the difficulties and challenges confronted by the Institute. Mr. Li also communicated with the senior investigators regarding the basic and applied research evaluation system, the application grants, and the staff recruitment, etc.

Mr. Li praised the fast development at GIBH, and gave directions on the strategies and focuses for the future development. It is highly expected that more fruitful accomplishments will be achieved at the Institute in accordance with the national and local strategic requirements.
