Posted: Dec 30, 2006
On July 19th, 2006, more than 20 scientists from Karolinska Institute (KI), Sweden, visited GIBH. KI is a leading biomedical research institute in Europe. It has been making great contributions to the well-being of people around the globe in various fields such as scientific research, education and information. KI enjoys a worldwide reputation for the honored Noble Prize for physiology and medicine awarded every year at its medical school. This visit is a wonderful prelude of KI-CAS co-operation and meanwhile one of the major events of “Sino-Sweden” Biomedicine Forum.
Dr. Ling Chen, Director General of GIBH, expressed warm welcome to the Swedish guests and then introduced to the guests the progress of GIBH’s development during the past 2 years, the working experience of GIBH investigators and the major therapeutic-area-focused research at GIBH. The Swedish guests highly praised the progress of development at our institute and expressed their appreciation to GIBH’s warm reception. In their discussion with some of our principle investigators, the Swedish scientists showed much interest in the research of our institute and expected to enhance and deepen co-operation in the field of bio-medicine between KI and CAS in the future.
