Speeding up the Modernization and Globalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine

On April 19, 2006, GIBH invited the director and deputy director of Guangdong TCM Bureau, Mr. Li Zilian and Mr. Li Jincheng to visit our institute and discuss the processes of TCM modernization and globalization.

After deputy director Dr. Pei Duanqing presented the recent progresses of GIBH, leaders of the Guangdong TCM Bureau discussed the current status and future research emphasis of TCM research in Guangdong province, especially on areas of focus during the 11th 5-year plan and how GIBH can contribute to such efforts. GIBH investigators then introduced their respective areas of research related to TCM. These discussions opened up possibilities for GIBH to join efforts in a more coordinated fashion with Guangdong TCM Bureau to fully utilize each others resources and expertise for TCM modernization and globalization.
