Research Areas

The mechanism of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) latent infection and reactivation in vivo and related immunometabolism.

Academic Performance

1. In charge of the construction of Human Cell Lineage Atlas Facility, a large-scale scientific research facility in China’s 14th Five-Year Plan.

2. Developed a new method to establish NK and T cell lines from patients with chronic active Epstein-Barr virus infection (CAEBV) and hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) by culturing the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) with the addition of recombinant human IL-2 (rhIL-2) and as little as 2 mL of whole blood.

3. Discovered a new mechanism for latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1) of EBV to downregulate the RIG-I signaling pathway and inhibit the IFN-βproduction by promoting RIG-I degradation dependent on proteasome.

4. Identified miRNAs regulation involved in EBV infection and associated diseases especially in tumor.

5. Rewarded multiple prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels.

6. Owned about 10 national invention patents.

7. Published more than 50 SCI papers on international journals.
