Collaborations

“Science transcends national boundaries, and collaboration is not limited by distance.” International cooperation is essential for the successful implementation of national innovation-driven development strategies and the advancement of scientific and technological innovation. GIBH is committed to fulfilling the goals set forth for international cooperation in this new era. We actively engage in initiatives related to the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, address public health challenges, broaden our collaborative efforts, and strive to foster mutually beneficial international partnerships in scientific and technological innovation.

GIBH is actively engaged in the global development of biomedicine and health. We enhance our scientific and technological collaboration and exchange with international partners through initiatives such as joint laboratory construction, collaborative research projects, and fostering mutual visits and exchanges.

GIBH has developed multiple partnerships with esteemed institutions, including the Max Planck Society in Germany, the University of Auckland in New Zealand, the University of Birmingham in the UK, and the University of Cambridge. Through these collaborations, we are jointly creating international technology cooperation platforms and facilitating academic exchanges. Notably, the “China-New Zealand Joint Laboratory on Biomedicine and Health” established by GIBH and the Maurice Wilkins Centre at the University of Auckland, has officially received approval from the Ministry of Science and Technology in August 2021.

GIBH is located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Since its inception, GIBH has actively collaborated with esteemed institutions such as the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Together, we have established joint research centers aimed at addressing various challenges and fostering scientific and technological talent. Notably, we have partnered with the Chinese University of Hong Kong to create the “GIBH CAS-CUHK Joint Research Laboratory on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine”, “Guangdong-Hong Kong Joint Laboratory for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine” as well as with the University of Hong Kong to set up the “GIBH-HKU Guangdong-Hong Kong Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research Centre”.

To date, GIBH has successfully conducted 13 sessions of the “Guangzhou International Conference on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine” featuring presentations from esteemed scholars, including Nobel laureates. This conference has evolved into a prominent annual event within the Guangzhou International Fair for Trade and Industry, serving as a significant platform for international academic exchange in the fields of stem cell research and regenerative medicine. It is recognized as the largest, most influential, and most prestigious stem cell conference in Guangzhou.
