The Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH) is a government-sponsored scientific research institute, affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. With more than 300 employees and 200 graduate students, and supported by the state-of-the-art core facilities, GIBH is predominantly focused on the national health and biomedical demands, the core of which lies in internationally innovative research in pathogenesis mechanism and innovation and integration of global cutting-edge technologies.

The Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), Chinese Academy of Sciences is a multidisciplinary research organization, co-founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Provincial Government and Guangzhou Municipal Government.  With its current force of more than 350 employees and 300 graduate students, complemented by state-of-the-art facilities, GIBH is focused on performing creative research programs of international scale, and introducing the latest advances in biomedicine to national healthcare system. We are now seeking talented young scientists with fierce creativity and ambitious aspirations, and established researchers, for full-time faculty positions. The basic criteria and specific positions are:

 

      

 

 


siRNA Therapeutic Laboratory Head
GIBH is involved in the discovery, development, and commercialization of therapeutics based on RNA interference (RNAi) technology. GIBH is currently seeking a Principal Investigator/Senior Scientist who specializes in the use of RNAi gene silencing and miRNA modulation to advance therapeutic drug discovery in oncology and inflammation. The Lab Head will be responsible for implementing and directing a small team of scientists in target identification, validation and drug development.

Primary research goals will be drug delivery technology evaluation and application to the delivery challenges posed by therapeutic siRNA. Both systemic and local delivery methods will be explored for a diverse array of cancer and inflammatory indications. Hands-on responsibilities will include the development of new formulation reagents, new oligonucleotide conjugation reagents; support the exploration of polymer-based delivery systems, and the development of predictive analytical and in vitro assays.

Ph.D. in molecular biology or pharmaceutics, and a minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the pharmaceutical industry or postdoctoral experience in biopharmaceutics
Expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts, particularly in molecular biology
A record of relevant scientific publications
